Famillies In Need Benoni welcomes new partnership

Those in need are encouraged to join their group using the following link https://www.facebook.com/groups/1806275336365732/?ref=shareTrauma

The Families In Need Benoni Community group started a campaign during lockdown called “In it together” and they have now joined forces with Trauma Support SA, an NPO based in Vlakfontein in Benoni.

The partnership aims to help as many people with food, but also to ensure that residents have access to trauma support and counseling should they need it.

The group is currently feeding 45 to 50 Benoni families per week and with donations from the Benoni Tamil School Board they can provide 150 cooked meals to those in need on a Wednesday.

They do not receive a steady flow of donations or funding and are appealing to residents to put something in their colourful trollies placed at Pick n Pay Northmed Mall, Pick n Pay Oakfields and the Super SPAR in Rynfield when they go shopping.

Items that they need to ensure that they can provide for the families in need include soya, oats, soup mix, mixed veg tin, bake beans, sugar, toilet rolls, and readymade packets of hope.
