A 30-year-old woman was raped on May 25 at Mayfield Extension 45 in Putfontein at the unoccupied toilets around 7pm.
Putfontein SAPS spokesperson Sgt Raider Ubisi said it is alleged that the woman was on her way home when she was accosted by an unknown man who grabbed her handbag and searched it looking for cash and cellphone.

“After searching the handbag, the man pulled out a firearm and hit her on the forehead with it,” said Ubisi.
“He then ordered the victim to go to the unoccupied toilets where he raped her.”
A case of rape was opened at the Putfontein Station Police.
