How SPARK Schools and Ignite Education Fund are helping parents affected by Covid-19

SPARK Schools has partnered up with Ignite Education Fund to raise funds to assist SPARK Schools’ parents who are affected by Covid-19.

The national lockdown has had dire financial consequences for many South Africans throughout the country.

The slowdown in the economy has affected a number of companies which has resulted in retrenchments. Small business owners have also been severely impacted by the national lockdown, as they’ve been unable to make an income.

This has resulted in many parents unable to pay school fees.

It is without a doubt that many South African families will be feeling the impact of Covid-19 long after the lockdown has been lifted. SPARK Schools’ families are already feeling the pinch and many will not be able to continue to keep their children in school, as they can no longer afford to pay school fees.

As a school that was established with the aim of providing quality, affordable education to all South African children, we understand what a loss it would be if our students were unable to return to school, due to circumstances that their parents have no control over.

And because of that, SPARK Schools has partnered up with Ignite Education Fund to raise funds to assist SPARK Schools’ parents who are affected by Covid-19.

The Covid-19 relief project is aimed at assisting SPARK families with financial support to pay school fees as well as to provide educational tools and materials during the lockdown and social, emotional and community support to prevent lowered school attendance or dropouts.

We are seeking donations from local and international businesses and individuals who are willing to assist and keep our scholars in school.
