New Benoni SAPS head appointed

Reginah Rampota started her career at the Rosebank Police Station in 1998; she has served at various stations.

Col Reginah Rampota was recently appointed the Benoni SAPS support head.

The Kempton Park resident’s love and passion for working with the community made her join the police force 22 years ago as a police officer.

She has been the Katlehong North SAPS station commander for the past two years.Her role is to oversee the human resources department, communication, supply chain, finance and administration services to ensure they are reaching their targets when it comes to performance and ensuring the station is well maintained.

She said in 2005 she was promoted to warrant officer and in 2007 when she was promoted to captain she was working at the Benoni Police Academy as the head of human resources.

“I was then promoted to a lieutenant colonel in 2009 as the division inspectorate head,” she said.

In 2013, she was appointed as the support head at Thembisa South SAPS and a year later she was promoted to a colonel at the Vosloorus SAPS, also as a support head.

Rampota said she is passionate about being a support head because she is responsible for ensuring the members of the Benoni SAPS are well looked after.

“I am looking forward to working with everyone. I was welcomed with love and warmth from everyone. I will also take good care of everyone,” she said.
