#Lockdown: You can still donate blood
Appointments can be made directly with your nearest donor centre to avoid queuing.
While you are out buying your essentials, you can also stop at the South African National Blood Services (SANBS) in Northmead to donate blood.
“Now, more than ever, we must unite as South Africans,” said donor relations practitioner Terrance Pillay.
“We care about our donors and to ensure they are protected we have equipped all our clinics with antiseptic sprays and alcohol wipes.

“Travel to donate blood is considered essential travel.
“With extended hours and appointment systems in place we encourage healthy donors to continue donating during this lockdown period.
Visit the following blood donor centres in and around Benoni:
• Benoni Donor Centre, 42 14th Avenue, Northmead.
• Springs Mall, outside Pick ‘n Pay.
• Carnival Mall, next to Game.
Extended operating hours at centres are 8am to 7pm on weekdays and 8am to 2pm on weekends.
