Recyclers continue collecting

He continues to wake up at 4.30am to prepare for his walk into Benoni.

Thokozani Bhengu from Emandleni has been braving out the streets to collect materials during refuse day, even though the nation has been put on lockdown to reduce the spread of Covid-19.

Thokozani has raised his concerns on potentially contracting the virus, but said he needs to feed his family and has to do whatever necessary to feed them.

He intends on keeping the material until the lockdown period has lifted and sell it all.

“I am scared but I have to continue working,” he said
