Saying goodbye to Nomsa Sithole, founder of Nyeleti Children’s Home

The home will be under the supervision of her daughter, Charlen Mkhonto.

Founder of Nyeleti Children’s Home Mavis Nomsa Siwela Sithole died on February 26.

Putfontein resident Sithole died at the age of 57 at Far East Rand Hospital, and was born on September 14, 1963, in Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga.

She is the third daughter of Frank Bakani and Nondumiso Clara Siwela. She started her schooling at Bafo Chiko Primary School and proceeded to Mati yo tenga Primary School. She matriculated from Mabuya Secondary School in Daveyton.

She later graduated from the University of South Africa with a law degree.

Siwela was in involved in the property market, where she worked with labour relations. In 2003, she founded the children’s home.

Siwela truly lived a full life and accomplished her heart’s desires as she was committed to her children’s home and helped the vulnerable children. She was a caring, loving and a kind person, always giving back to the community with the little she had.

She is survived by her children – Joan, Bongani, Thami and Charlen – her mother, siblings and her children at Nyeleti’s Children Home.

The home will be under the supervision of her daughter, Charlen Mkhonto.
