Alleged drug dealer arrested at the Benoni Plaza

A 30-year-old woman was arrested for being in possession of and dealing in illicit substances on January 21 at the Benoni Plaza around 11am.

EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng said the Equestrian Unit Officers received a tip-off from community members about the alleged drug dealer.

“The officers went to the plaza and found the woman fitting the description with narcotics and money believed to be proceeds from illegal trade,” said Mokheseng.

“The woman was found with 44 knotted plastics of nyaope and 33 tied plastics of rock, valued at R3 660 and R100 cash.”

A case was opened at the Benoni SAPS and the woman is expected to appear at the Benoni Magistrate’s Court soon.
