“Over the past two years, the metro has invested more than R18-million in upgrading and beautifying the park.”

He added that all the animal camps and facilities have been upgraded, new pastures have been planted for the animals, all four dams have been dredged, a new play area for children has been created, two new ablution facilities have been built and the park has a new parking area and entrance.

“The pastures still need a little more time to grow, so animal lovers will have to wait a bit longer before the farm animals are introduced back into the park,” said Gadebe.
