[WATCH] Golfer’s driver shaft snaps on impact

The shaft of his Four Degree driver snapped on him, sending the bits and bobs, including the club head, flying in all directions.

Benoni golfer Thorne van Zyl had a lucky escape during the fourth leg of the Grid Outlaws Long Driving competition at Grasslands Driving Range.

The shaft of his Four Degree driver snapped on him, sending the bits and bobs, including the club head, flying in all directions.

He sustained a wrist injury, but managed to fight through the pain and finished fourth, to retain his position as the overall Order of Merit leader.
