Hell Razor shows support to Fairwinds residents

Residents at the park expressed their gratitude to Hell Razor for their contribution to uplifting their community.

Hell Razor (a Kempton Park-based charity biking club) visited the residents of Fairwinds Caravan Park in Brentwood Park on May 26.

During their visit to the site, the club donated some much-needed items to the residents such as toiletries, blankets, second-hand clothing, home appliances and food parcels.

Nominated Hell Razor of the 2018/2019 Year Darren Moyle said the club regularly supports those in need including caravan parks and old-age homes.

According to Moyle, the Hell Razor of the Year chose a charity of their choice that the club will donate to within the year.

“The Fairwinds community looked like they needed help,” said Moyle.

“We do our charity run every year in May.

“We donate items such as second-hand clothing, furniture, detergents, toiletries and food parcels.

Fairwinds residents Judy Nel and Jacques Theron said the contribution from the club is “very kind and will help a lot”.

“There are 15 children in this community and we’ve put together a food pack with a blanket for each of them as well as a few treats.

“It’s a family event and also reminds us that we should be grateful for what we have.

“Seeing people live in less fortunate conditions and simply needing basic necessities is an eye-opener for everyone.”

Member of the club Drienie Prolliu said the club has been in existence since 1993 and has made it their mission for the last 26 years to do charity drives for the less fortunate in the society.

Ashton Eckler, president of Hell Razor, confirmed the annual charity drive was chosen by Moyle.

“Biking is our leisure time and we are fortunate enough to do it.

“In saying so, we feel doing a charity drive once a year is the least we can do to give back to our local communities.”
