Hip-hop artist wants to inspire his peers

The artist is working on his upcoming EP, titled The Other Side.

Mduduzi Mahlangu (26), aka Mjay Da SpoiltBrat, is a Daveyton resident who has his heart set on the art of hip-hop.

Mjay Da SpoiltBrat is a hip-hop artist like no other because his distinctive musical sound sets him apart from the rest.

He started composing hip-hop music in 2010 as a way to express himself through this art.

Hip-hop was his choice of music because while growing up his brother listened to a lot of hip-hop music and that had a great influence on him. It drew him closer to the genre and made him want to create hip-hop music of his own and share it with the masses.

His music details issues the youth face in this day and age. Mjay Da SpoiltBrat released a mixtape, titled Dreams and Nightmares, in 2012. In 2018 he released an extended-play (EP), titled King Kong.

The EP was nominated at the Makoya Entertainment Awards in the Best EP category.

The youngster has had his music playlisted on radio stations outside of the Ekurhuleni region, such as Sosha FM, Massiv Metro and Alex FM.

“Through my music, I would like to inspire my peers and bring change where I can,” he said.

The artist is working on his upcoming EP, titled The Other Side.

The EP will be released later this year.
