Johakim Badhuza on the rise as a musician

His passion really took shape during his high school years when the thought of recording a debut album sparked a huge interest in the music industry within him.

Cloverdene’s Johakim Badhuza (26), aka Spesh Maan, is an up and coming musician and rapper.

He hails from the small village of Leribe in Khomoatsana, Lesotho.

A versatile artist who composes hip-hop, house (Gqom) and gospel rap music, started singing when he was just 10 years old.

Johakim said his mother, Agnes Badhuza, played a vital role in the interest he had towards music as she would play gospel music in the house on Sundays and they would sing along together.

He achieved this dream and his debut album is titled Don’t Cry Mama.

From there on he started composing music with the aim of expressing his feelings.

“I firmly believe when one does something with love you are bound to attain success, hence I compose my music with love, passion and dedication while carving my way to success within the music industry,” he said.

He is currently working on an Extended Play record titled Praying for the Better Days.

Apart from being a musician, he is also a graphic designer and a life skills facilitator.

“I wish the youth could understand life is a precious gift from God.

“I would also like to tell the youngsters out there that we all have talents so let us utilise them – if I can do it you can too,” Johakim said.
