Market satisfies community members

A family affair, visitors from around the East Rand converged on the market, which also saw fur babies join their human champions for a day of fun in the sun.

The Benoni Market, which was the first market for the year, took place on March 30 in Benoni AH.

The market, with free entrance to the public, hosted a range of goods and fun activities for visitors to enjoy, from clothing and toys to domestic pets’ goods, food and more.

“It’s the first for the year in Benoni,” said organiser Cindy Joshua.

“We have over 40 stalls and lots of fun and exciting things to do and see, including pony rides, laser tag, handmade clothing and even a pumpkin stall.

“Our Easter Market is coming up shortly and that is going to be a real treat for kids and parents to enjoy.”

Stan Musengezi (9), who was present as a stallholder with mom, Ethel Mutaz, said he was enjoying his day out before school resumed.

“I’m here and I’m having fun,” he said.

“I’m also visiting the other stalls to see what they have.”

Also present was animal rescue and rehabilitation organisation Purple Red Paws from Zesfontein, with owners Zalita Lass and Marisa Meano selling domestic pet goods on the day.
