Cause of Naeem Mohammed’s death still not known

Mohammed was buried on the night of his death, in accordance with the Islamic faith.

The post-mortem results needed to determine the cause of the death of a Liverpool Secondary learner at the school last month could take up to two years to be released, according to Actonville SAPS Lt Col Eugene Scheepers.

“The doctor who was conducting the post-mortem could not establish the cause of death,” said Scheepers.

“Samples have been sent to the toxicology unit at the Department of Health as there were allegations of drugs involved in the death.

“No preliminary report was made available and there is no conclusive finding as yet.

“In my experience, it can take anywhere between two months and two years before we receive any results.”

Friends of the deceased described the boy as quiet and innocent.
