Four arrested for theft in Putfontein

A case of tampering with essential infrastructure was opened at the Putfontein Police Station.

Four men were arrested for being in possession of copper and for tampering with the Infrastructure Act on November 1 in Putfontein.

Putfontein SAPS spokesperson Constable Justice Ramaube said the four men were arrested shortly after they stole copper cables at Transnet Sentrarand.

“The arrest was made in conjunction with a private security company after police were alerted,” said Ramaube.

Police confiscated the goods and the suspects were detained.
