Public to interact with cats breeders in Northmead Square

Cat lovers and breeders will gather together for a unique exhibition

Have you always been fascinated by cats in all their shapes and forms?

The Cat Fanciers’ Club (CFC) of South Africa will be hosting a special exhibition for the public at Northmead Square today (August 4).

Members of the public will get the opportunity to meet an interact with breeders and discuss various breeds that they may be interested in.

This will give the public more insight into the world of pedigreed cats.

Breeders and exhibitors will answer any questions or queries the public may have on the various breeds, feline nutrition and the rewarding hobby of being a cat fancier.

A great variety of special breeds will be on display.

Including the exotic to the well-known stalwarts, will be the Persian, Maine Coon and Siamese.

Some of the more exotic breeds on the show will include the Bengal, the Scottish Fold, the American Curl, Devon Rex and the Cornish Rex.

Other curly breeds will be the LaPerm and Selkirk Rex. The Sphynx will make an appearance.

Few cats can boast the incredible rich ticked coats of the Abyssinian and Somali.

The exhibition will have at least one of both of these breeds for the public to admire.

To add to the excitement, the first Turkish Angoras will be on exhibition. The club is working towards acceptance in the country within the South African Cat Council.

Pedigreed cats are by far not the only felines the club represents or cares for.

Those domestics, or “moggies” as they are referred to, are the loyal and beloved pets found in most homes.

The public will vote for their favourite cat and various aspects of the breeds.

Giving each member of the public a slightly more intimate image in the world of the cat fancier; while making a fun outing for all concerned. Times are from 9 am until 1 pm

This event is proudly sponsored by Caxton Local Media, Benoni City Times and Northmead Square.
