Football, food and fun at the upcoming Benoni Football Derby

It is the biggest football game on the East Rand.

The famous Benoni Football Derby that is played between huge rivals, Old Bens and Benoni Northerns football clubs, will take place on June 9 at Old Bens’ Currin Park home ground.

Football fans are urged to turn up in big numbers in support of the Benoni teams.

Forget the Manchester, Merseyside, Madrid or even Soweto derbies – this is the Benoni derby and it promises to be awesome.

As usual, there will be bacon rolls, boerewors rolls and prego rolls on sale while the beer garden will be centrally located to quench the thirst of onlookers.

Get off your couch, turn the TV off and come support the famous old derby.

The children haven’t been forgotten either.

Bring the youngsters down to enjoy inflatable foosball, face painting as well as sand and ceramic art activities. These are just some of the fun things to do.

The reserves open proceedings at 1.45pm followed by the first team clash at 3.30pm.
