But I also own Footlights Entertainment and Drama Academy where we offer quiz nights, karaoke evenings and DJs for various events as well as private tutoring in drama.

BCT: What is your role in Protea Stage Productions?

MB: I have been involved with Protea Stage Productions for about 12 years.

I have been vice-chairman for the past two years and I starred and directed many shows including Oliver and Mulan.

We’re a community-based amateur theatre society that puts on productions about twice a year.

Our chairman is Bob Stone, who has been with the society for many years.

We encourage people of all ages, genders and cultures to take part in our productions and we’re currently rehearsing for our upcoming production of The Musical Adventures of Pocahontas, which will be staged at Tom Newby School at the end of May.

BCT: Tell us about yourself?

MB: I grew up in a family of six.

My father, David Brownhill, resides in Brentwood Park and my mother, Barbara Brownhill, lives in the UK.

I have two older sisters, Kerry Brownhill and Ashleigh Phillips, and a younger sister, Robyn Brownhill.

I attended Farrarmere Primary before moving to the UK and US.

When we got back, I returned to Farrarmere for Grade Seven and then went to Benoni High School where I matriculated in 2007.

After school, I moved to London where I took a course in Musical Theatre at The Sylvia Young Theatre School. Currently, I am single with no children – that I know of – so, ladies hit me up.

BCT: What are your hobbies apart from acting?

MB: I am an avid camping enthusiast and technology boffin.

I also like to try my hand at graphic design when I’m feeling really enthusiastic.

BCT: What are your future plans?

MB: My main plan is to star in full-scale professional productions at Montecasino or the like as well as running a more successful entertainment company and drama academy, and possibly branching into a production company for theatre productions.
