These skills will be taught to their existing clients or mothers at the centre.

Every week, the centre hosts workshops that focus on three topics; antenatal, child development and life skills.

Lauren Jee, founder of the organisation, said the aim of these workshops is to teach mothers skills that they can use to make a living.

“Most of these moms don’t work and with these skills they may be able to start their own businesses,” said Jee.

“It could be any skill that could benefit the mothers, from gardening, crocheting, sewing, making crafts or even how to draw up a business plan.”

The centre is also looking for recyclable items that can be used to make toys.

Classes are on Thursdays at the Christ Community Church on 61 Eight Avenue, Northmead from 8.30am.

For more information on how to get involved, contact Jee on 074 953 9106.
