Benoni weather man Clive Webber, who has a weather station in Rynfield, said this spell of rain started on March 16.
He recorded these readings:
March 16: 10mm. Webber said this rainfall was accompanied by winds reaching up to 51.5km/h.
March 17: 4.4mm.
March 18: 0.2mm.
March 19: 0.2mm.
March 20: 3.2mm.
March 21: 26.4mm.
March 22: 8.4mm (Until 10am).
He said the heavy scattered storms have largely bypassed Benoni, saying areas south of the town experienced heavier rainfall.
