Benoni author appeals to employees

It is the first book he has written.

There was no writer’s block for Shiraz Sirkoth who wrote his first book in two years.

It was released just over a week ago.

“I never intended to write a book,” said Sirkoth.

“I just started jotting down my thoughts and those notes became my book.”

Sirkoth wrote a book titled “Through the eyes of an ordinary employee’, which is about the real experiences in the everyday life of an ordinary employee in the workplace.

“I am a manager in finance, but I was once an ordinary employee,” said the Benoni CBD resident.

“I have realised in the workforce that loyalty stems from the employer.”

The title aims to make employees realise that Sirkoth understands their struggle.

“I wanted to call it In the eyes of an ordinary employee,” he said.

“But in the eyes you only see pain. When we look through the eyes, then we understand the pain.”

Sirkoth said the 29-chapter book consists of personal experience and the experiences of his friends and colleagues over the 23 years that he has been in finance.

“This book is reading material. It is the bitter truth about what we see in the workplace,” he said.

“Most employees come to work with a smile and leave it at the door, and then they go home and pick up their smile again.

“The organisation may be great, but the employer who has an autocratic leadership style causes this.”

The aim of the book was written to let fellow employees know they are not alone in the work environment.

Sirkoth paid tribute to Anver Adamgee and his family for helping him realise the book.

The book can be found on Amazon and a hard copy can be requested on the Facebook page Ordinary Eyezz.
