Laerskool Rynfield dominates track, field

It’s the seventh consecutive win for the school.

Laerskool Rynfield has done it again, winning the inter-primary athletics event for a seventh year running.

The event was hosted by Rynfield Primary School over three days last week.

Laerskool Rynfield’s athletes came up against those from Tom Newby, Farrarmere, Arbor and Rynfield primary schools, as well as Laerskool Northmead and Laerskool Brentwoodpark.

Laerskool Rynfield was the overall winner, with Rynfield and Arbor primary schools finishing second and third respectively.

The winning schools in the different categories are as follows:

• Hurdles – Laerskool Rynfield

• High jump – Laerskool Rynfield

• Long jump – Laerskool Rynfield

• Shot put – Laerskool Rynfield

• Middle distance – Laerskool Rynfield

• Junior sprints – Laerskool Northmead and Arbor Primary School

• Senior sprints – Laerskool Rynfield

• Relays – Arbor Primary School

Walter Janse van Rensburg, principal of Laerskool Rynfield, said he is “elated” by the achievement.

He attributes the success to the positive outlook of staff and learners.
