Images of fallen trees, wrecked homes and leaking roofs have been shared after last night’s storm in Benoni.

Buddy David, the public relations officer for sector one of the Benoni Community Policing Forum (CPF), said members of several Benoni CPF sectors and AfriForum were assisting fellow Benonians until midnight.
He said approximately 20 people removed fallen trees along Landau, Leyds and Van Rooyen Streets and Morris Avenue.
“We are there for the community,” said David.
“We need to stick together and assist the community where we can.”
William Ntladi, spokesperson for Ekurhuleni Emergency Services, said he has not received information about storm damage in Benoni.
