Ashton Grade Six learners have their wits about them

Four learners got 100 per cent for the three subjects

Grade Six learners at Ashton Junior College have impressed their school.

The youngsters recently received their Cambridge International Checkpoint Examinations for 2017.

The subjects, which form part of this, are English, mathematics and science.

“Apart from obtaining a 100 per cent pass, 78 per cent of the students obtained at least one distinction,” a school representative said.

“Overall, 15 students obtained three distinctions each with four of these students. Monet Buchner, Cameron Hart, Gabrielle Hart and Fuzail Sirkhotth obtained a full house – 100 per cent in each subject.”

The other learners who also obtained distinctions in all three subjects were: Jadyn Chetty, Julia Wicht, Hunter Hide, Lucie Miller, Keegan Dalzell, Ethan Barnes, Timika Choate, Emmanuel Thembo, Hannah Dickson, Ethan Esterhuizen and Dharishan Naidoo.

Twenty-three out of 49 students obtained distinctions for English, 24 for mathematics and 29 for science.

The overall averages achieved by Ashton are English (78 per cent), mathematics (78 per cent) and science (80 per cent).
