Police shed light on motorcycle theft

A warning was sent out this week on a Benoni Community Policing Forum (CPF) WhatsApp group about an increase in the theft of motorcycles and trailers.

Benoni SAPS spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele said two cases of theft of motorcycles were opened at the Benoni Police Station in November.

She said no cases of trailer theft were opened.

A motorcycle was stolen on November 10 in the Benoni Agricultural Holdings.

On November 26, one was stolen in Northmead near the John Barrable Hall.

Sekele said police cannot at this stage reveal if any cases concerning these crimes were opened in the first week of December.

Police are encouraging victims of crimes to open cases.
