The cold and rainy weather did not stop the water sports enthusiasts from collecting animal food for a local shelter.
Club chairperson Beatrix de Kok said races were held for inflatable boats, jet skis, hard bottom boats, GT15s and F30s.
She explained the club decided to combine a club race with a donation initiative.
The entrance fee to the race was a bag of cat or dog food.
“We managed to gather a bakkie-load of cat and dog food,” said de Kok.
All of the food was given to the Red Purple Paws animal shelter in Benoni.
