Ex-boyfriend arrested for rape, murder
Police are investigating a case of murder and rape after an ex-boyfriend and two of his accomplices were arrested on November 1 on Ngwenya Street, Daveyton.
The two accomplices were charged for murder.
Ekurhuleni Central Cluster police spokesperson Lt Col Mack Mngomezulu said it is alleged that on November 1, the ex-boyfriend had a fight with the current boyfriend about his ex-girlfriend.
“The ex-boyfriend was with two of his friends when the fight broke out,” said Mngomezulu.
“The trio stabbed the man with a sharp object and he was certified dead on the scene.”
Later in the day (November 1) the ex-boyfriend went to the woman’s house (ex-girlfriend) and took her by force to Gabon informal settlement in Daveyton, added Mngomezulu.
“Upon arrival at the man’s house, he ordered the woman to take off her clothes,” he said.
“When the woman refused the man stabbed her in the upper body and raped her.”
The three men appeared in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court on November 3 and will remain in police custody until their next appearance on November 9.
