White elephant centre will receive some love
The abandoned shopping centre on the corner of Pioneer Drive and Lakeside Place will be repurposed in 2018, according to Carine Wolmarans, a property manager at Centro Property Group.
“The centre will be changed for alternative use, plans are being finalised and construction will commence in 2018,” said Wolmarans.
“We are not disclosing anything else.”
The City Times was told in February 2014 that the centre would undergo a R90-million upgrade, but to date, no visible work has been conducted.
