“Throughout these months we completed tasks,” he said.

These tasks included:

• A fund-raiser for Cansa where a subminimum amount of R10 000 each needed to be raised.

• Random acts of kindness over 30 days.

“We had to work with people on a daily basis in order to make their life a little more bearable,” Bronkhorst said.

“I choose to help the homeless and individuals standing at the robots.

“I learned that I have what it takes to be a man of honour not only for my country but for my community.”

The contestants had to choose a mentor to assist them through the Mr SA journey.

“The business side of the competition is where I needed the most assistance and that is the reason for me choosing my brother-in-law, Christiaan Bann, a business owner and engineer,” Bronkhorst said.

“I chose Miss SA princess 2017 Boipelo Mabe as my mentor to help me understand this side of the competition much better.”

During these tasks, the competitors continued to promote their own charities as well as be involved with several other charities.

“My charities included The Man Cave Project, local non-profit organisation nursery schools and Haven Care Centre,” he explained.

“I worked with a lady named Anne Strydom from Boksburg where we fed 120 families every day thanks to donations.”

According to the Farrarmere resident, he ended fifth after the challenge from the 20 semi-finalists, of which the 12 were chosen.

Vote for Bronkhorst by SMSing “MRSA036” to 47439.

The final will be held on November 25.
