On December 11, last year, Jackson Mashaba stabbed a 38-year-old man to death.
Daveyton SAPS spokesperson Capt Mesh Makole said a case of murder was opened after a man was found dead at Denge Street with multiple stab wounds on his upper body.
Mashaba was arrested on December 12, 2016.
“Further investigations revealed that Mashaba attempted to rob the man and when he didn’t find any valuables, he stabbed the deceased,” said Makole.
“He then fled the scene.”
Mashaba is serving his sentence in Mooderbee Prison.
