Metro wants you to apply for this job

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) is embarking on a drive to recruit over 2 000 waste brigades for the upcoming Keep Ekurhuleni Clean programme.

The aim of this programme is to ensure that the metro is kept clean, while promoting social cohesion and preservation of the environment.

This is in line with the Siyaqhuba Mayoral Outreach Programme launched by the mayor of Ekurhuleni, Clr Mzwandile Masina, last year.

The programme will employ over 2 000 residents from across the municipality in the following positions:

• 2 240 waste management brigades (ward based)

• 112 supervisors (ward based)

• 20 coordinators (customer care based)

“The day-to-day work schedule for the waste brigades will include turning illegal dumping of waste within the city into good jobs through recycling by targeting women, youth, and people living with disabilities,” said metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe.

Only residents of Ekurhuleni with a valid republic of South Africa ID can apply.

The period of employment is 18 months.

Applications or CVs are to be submitted in person to any customer care centre from October 16 to 20, from 9am to 3pm.

No faxed or emailed applications will be accepted.

No payment is required to apply.
