Airfield robbery victim has underwear shoved in mouth

A man in his 20s had his underwear stuffed in his mouth by two men who entered his flatlet in Airfield this morning (September 28).

Capt Nomsa Sekele, spokesperson for the Benoni Police Station, said the 27-year-old man was asleep when he was woken at about 4.15am by two men at his bedside at the Whitley Street property.

One of them had a firearm.

When the man woke up, his hands were bound with an electrical cord.

Sekele said the robbers entered through an open window, but first had to cut the burglar bars.

She said the victim told police he did not hear the intruders enter the unit.

The spokesperson said the men found the victim’s underwear on the floor and put it in his mouth.

The criminals made off with two TVs, a computer, wallet and a vehicle.

A case of house robbery has been opened.
