“The City has not invited applicants nor started the process of recruitment for the programme,” said Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) spokesperson Themba Gadebe.
“Once internal administration processes are concluded, Ekurhuleni will make an announcement and invite the public to submit applications for a fair and transparent recruitment process.”
Members of the community and councillors are encouraged to report people who may be involved in an illegal recruitment process to their nearest Customer Care Centre or phone the call centre on 0860 543 000.
