Benoni resident looks down the barrel of a gun for the second time

Theo Izaakse, a Western Extension resident, was hijacked in his driveway for the second time in two years on September 13.

He was hijacked last year on February 24.

The BCT reported that a pistol jam saved Izaakse’s life after the first hijacking at the Victoria Avenue home.

He described the second incident, which took place at around 05.40am, as “exactly the same case”.

Izaakse was on his way to work so he closed his garage door and prepared to get into his car.

“I saw a man running towards me from my left and I assumed he was running towards the train station,” he said.

When he looked to his right, he saw three other men running towards him.

“They were shouting at me to get down,” he said.

One gunman then searched Izaakse for valuables.

Izaakse said all four men wore balaclavas.

“I only looked into the barrel of one gun; I don’t know if the others were armed,” he said.

His Ford Focus was found in Boksburg a few minutes later at an Absa ATM in Commissioner Street.

A case has been opened at the Boksburg SAPS, where Izaakse’s vehicle was found.

At the time of publishing, no comment had been received from the SAPS.
