Woman raped after being forced into car

A case of rape has been opened at the Benoni SAPS, after a woman was allegedly raped after being grabbed and forced into a car on July 20.

The incident occurred at around 8.15am.

Benoni SAPS spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele said it is alleged the woman was walking along Great North and Stanley roads when a red VW Polo stopped next to her.

“Two men came out of the vehicle, grabbed her and forced her into the car,” said Sekele.

“The vehicle then drove off.”

“Two hours later, the woman woke up naked with her clothes next to her in a veld on Struben Street, Rynfield,” said Sekele.

“She then came across a CMS officer who took her to the police station.”

Sekele added that the woman does not remember anything except being forced into the vehicle.

No arrests have been made.

Police are searching for the four men believed to be involved in the crime.

The Benoni SAPS warns all women to be on the vigilant and aware of their surroundings when they are walking in a desolated or quiet area.
