Old Bens to play for SAB League promotion this weekend

The South African Football Association (SAFA) has selected Old Bens Football Club’s first XI for this season’s edition of the South African Breweries (SAB) League Provincial Play-offs and will play their matches over the course of this weekend at Tsakane Stadium.

This comes after Old Bens finished as the top team without an existing SAB League side in the 2016 version of the Eastern Local Football Association’s (ELFA) Super League.

Coach Raymond Cloete’s men will open proceedings in their pool on Friday night (July 7) against Tornado Lions.

They will play Callies FC on Saturday (July 8) at 11am.

Should they win those two fixtures they will advance to the semi-final on Sunday (July 9) at 9am.

The final will be played at 2pm on Sunday.

The top two teams will gain promotion to SAB League (the fourth tier of South African football and the second highest tier controlled by SAFA).
