Brentwood Park NPO develops revenue-producing projects

Until recently the Manger Care Centre (MCC) relied on donor funding to support their projects and programmes, but now the centre is aiming to develop its own revenue-producing projects.

The Brentwood Park NPO has established a bakery, as well as an upholstery and carpentry shop.

What started as ideas to support beneficiaries, changed into ideas to give beneficiaries an opportunity to develop skills which could enable them to move into further training or employment.

The revenue-producing projects will also generate a sustainable stream of income to reduce dependence on funding and/or grants.

The bakery offers homemade bread and biscuits and a daily meal solution including breakfasts, light lunches and suppers.

For bakery orders, contact Elmarie Maritz on 011 747 8700 or email her on elmarie@mangercare.co.za.

The upholstery shop not only provides furniture, especially seats, with padding, springs, webbing and fabric or leather covers, but also re-purposes discarded linen products from hotels.

Re-purposing the discarded linen products from hotels to create duvet sets is a creative way of making people re-think how the environmental impact of these discarded linen products can be reduced/eliminated.

MCC is open to your ideas for re-purposing these discarded linen products and their expert team will turn your ideas into reality.

For quotations on upholstery contact Martin on 074 250 0227 or 011 747 8700 and on carpentry, contact Naidene on 011 747 8700 or 071 391 1610 or email your order to Meloney.bouwer@mangercare.co.za or naidene.a@mangercare.co.za.

The MCC’s agricultural offering extends to hothouse tunnel manufacturing and seedling and livestock (sheep) production.
