‘Happiest 5k on the planet’ brings colour to Benoni
There were smiles aplenty, laughs galore and an array of bright colours when the popular international running event series, the Capitech Color Run, brought the 2017 Superhero Tour to Benoni for the first time.
Color Runners wore white at the starting line at Benoni Northerns Sports Club, walked the streets of Rynfield and finished plastered in coloured powder from the various colour stations along the route of the “Happiest 5k on the planet”.
Members from Benoni Northerns’ various sporting sub-sections ensured that all participants were properly covered in coloured powder as they manned the colour stations on the route.
The fun continued with a Finish Festival, equipped with music, dancing and massive colour throws, which create millions of vivid colour combinations.
An estimated 3 000 Color Runners participated in the inaugural event in Ekurhuleni.

The event now moves to the Waterkloof Air Force Base in Pretoria this Saturday (May 27).
