Man stabilised after apparent suicide attempt
A man believed to be in his 50s was stabilised and transported to hospital after an attempted suicide in the Benoni Agricultural Holdings this morning (April 9).
ER24 spokesperson Annine Dormehl said the man was being resuscitated by bystanders when paramedics arrived.
“The patient had a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and was stabilised before he was transported to the Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital in Johannesburg,” said Dormehl.
Local authorities will investigate the incident.
