Animals move from Bunny Park

The cows have been moved from the Bunny Park and the other animals will follow soon.

Tania Forrest-Smith, committee member of the Ward 27 environment portfolio, said the cows were moved to a farm in Heidelberg today (March 30).

“This is a major step forward for the park,” she said.

“We’ve been fighting for this for so long and it’s finally happening.”

According to Forrest-Smith, the sheep will be moved from the facility on Friday (March 31), and the goats on Monday (April 3).

She said all the animals will be moved to the same farm as the cows, except the pigs.

“They will remain at the park, as the construction won’t affect them,” the animal lover said.

The park closed on March 1, for the revamp to start.

The refurbishment project is expected to last until at least July.
