Farrarmere mom has her eye on the crown

Farrarmere’s Chantel Blignaut is a top 100 semi-finalist in the Mrs South Africa pageant.

She currently holds the title of Mrs Gauteng 2016, her daughter, Chè-Lee Nel (10), holds the title of Miss Pre-Teen Gauteng and her husband, Breydon, was crowned Mr Gauteng 2016.

Blignaut is the CEO of Jetstreme Jobs and the brand ambassador of Westpoint Executive Suites.

Should she be crowned Mrs South Africa, Blignaut wants to use the opportunity to make a real difference in the country.

“This will be a platform to give back to the community. I am all for women empowerment and want to be the voice of those who are voiceless,” she said.

The 34-year-old motivational speaker and choreographer said what sets her apart from the other contestants is that she’s ambitious, caring and wants to leave a legacy that other women will look up to.

Blignaut said if she wins she will focus on the needs of the elderly.

“I feel like their needs are not seen to and I will help get street children into shelters,” she said.

Blignaut is passionate about educating learners on teenage pregnancy and bullying in schools and what the effects of these are.

She is involved with non-profit organisation Enfundi Care, which focuses on educating underprivileged children.

The top 25 in the Mrs South Africa pageant will be announced on April 28.
