Benoni music school takes over Barnyard

Students from the C Sharp Music Academy in Farrarmere showcased their talents in “Decades of Hits” at the Barnyard Theatre, Emperors Palace, recently.

“We host a big concert every year for our students and 2016 was our 17th show,” said teacher and owner of the school, Lizette de Klerk.

“All the students participate in solo and group items and most of them have movements choreographed by various choreographers.”

She said the students are supported on stage by dancers from Dynamic Dance Studio in Rynfield.

“My aim with this concert is to give my students the opportunity to showcase what they learned over the years of attending C Sharp and to perform on a proper stage with all the ‘trimmings’ that the professionals have,” de Klerk added.

“Every year we invite children’s homes from all over Gauteng to attend the morning show and had over a 100 children attending this show.

“It’s a privilege to spoil these children, who probably never get the opportunity to attend a show at the Barnyard Theatre.”
