The deceased was found with multiple stab wounds to his body on Sunday (December 11).
Daveyton SAPS spokesperson Capt Mesh Makole said police were called to attend a crime incident at around 2am at Denge Street.
“When police arrived on scene, an unknown man was found lying on the street with multiple wounds to his body,” said Makole.
“Paramedics were called and the man was declared dead.”
A case of murder was opened at the Daveyton Police Station.
The suspect was later arrested at around 7pm on the same day.
He is expected to appear in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court soon.
