Story brings back memories

“Benoni resident” writes:

I read Mrs Dunn’s letter, published on page 12 of the issue dated October 7, headlined “Mess irks resident”.

Her letter about dustbin bags brought back memories of our own experience.

Our neighbour had large concrete balls on her pavement and didn’t want anything, including her own rubbish and tree cuttings, on her pavement.

She chose ours instead and refused to move her rubbish even when we confronted her.

Her reasoning was that the pavement in front of our house belonged to the municipality and not us.

Another neighbour recorded the same woman on CCTV camera taking items out of our rubbish bags, and once the municipality had taken all the bags away; she scattered the lose items onto our pavement, leaving us with litter to pick up.

We decided to rather move.

We now have lovely neighbours, who have a proper upbringing and good manners.
