White collar boxers ready to make a fist of it
The VIP Boxing and Fitness Gym, situated at Fit-Xtreme Gym in O’Reilly Merry Street, will be hosting boxers from around the East Rand at the “East Rand Inter Gyms” event, presented by the White Collar Boxing Factory, tomorrow night (Friday, September 30).
“It is more of an event than just a tournament – it is about entertainment,” said organiser and promoter of the event Harry Ramogoadi-Manaka.
“The people of Benoni must come and show support for white collar boxing.”
“What is white collar boxing?
“It is boxing for non-professional/non-amateur fighters.
“It was originally created to help white collar workers who cannot compete at professional or amateur level to get the opportunity to get into the ring and experience the sport.
“It is now gaining so much popularity in South Africa that even younger fighters are competing in it, which is a good thing because boxing careers can also be fast-tracked.”
Doors open at 5pm while weigh-in will take place at 6pm.
Fights will start at 7pm.
