Continue supporting the Bunny Park

Tania Forrest-Smith, founder of the Save the Bunny Park Animals Facebook group, writes:

I attended the meeting held by Stephen Rehbock on September 17 to discuss aspects affecting the park, which was published on page 3 of the issue dated September 23.

My role was to talk on the plight of the animals, but a few points need to be made.

A woman previously made a similar proposal about greening the park, which is a brilliant idea.

However, I am concerned about how this will be achieved as there are still animals at the park, with over 4 000 bunnies alone.

Plans are in process for the refurbishment of the park, but only once the bunnies have been sterilised and rehomed.

To say there is no incentive to visit the “man-made desert” is irresponsible and could have dire consequences for the animals kept behind fences, relying on humans to feed them.

Yes, the Bunny Park is barren but there are steps being taken to rectify the situation, but I urge you to continue your support of the Bunny Park; for the sake of the animals.
