Desperate search for players
The Benoni Host Lions Club is struggling to get players to swing their golf clubs in the annual Gert Heyink Memorial Golf Day.
This year will mark the 26th anniversary of the death of Gert Heyink, who was a member of Benoni Host Lions Club.
The golf day has been held in his memory every year since his death and will take place at the Benoni Country Club, on September 14.
Tee-off is at 11.30am.
“We are all struggling to get players this year and a total of seven four balls who normally play are unavailable,” said the club’s Jill Walden, who is convening the golf day.
“Any assistance to make this day a success will be much appreciated.”
Proceeds will be used for the Benoni Host Lions Club’s projects.
