Thami Molefe (1) feeds her mother, Sesi Molefe, at the Sithabile Child and Youth Care Centre, Cloverdene, on Mandela Day. They are sitting with one of the employees of 3M South Africa (the business owns the centre’s premises), Gina Cohen, who helped to make boerewors rolls, painted the girls’ dormitory and donated groceries and clothes as part of their 67 minute initiative for Mandela Day.
Children who live at the Sithabile Child and Youth Care Centre stand with Ancyl member Nokhutula Nkosi. The centre takes care of 35 children from two years and older.
Ilse (left) and Armand Coetzee, the founders of Crystal Park Helping Hands, gave groceries and clothes for adults and children to the founder of Sithabile Child and Youth Care Centre, Thabisile Msezani. The couple collected the donated clothes and groceries from the community of Crystal Park.
ANC Youth League (Ancyl) member from Ward 24, Nokuthula Nkosi, sits with Khensani Siko (7) who shares his birthday with the late Nelson Mandela. Ancyl donated clothing, groceries and made a home-cooked meal for the children on Mandela Day.
