The Haven Care Centre was greeted by the drone of over 100 motorcycles on July 16. Members of the Soweto Motorbike School, Lakeside Mall and the mall’s Checkers and Santa Rio Spur partnered for Mandela Day, to bring some joy to the Benoni Agricultural Holdings-based centre. The benefactors gave the home a coat of paint, erected curtain rails and did some gardening. Later, the Spur and Checkers donated food to the Nyeleti’s Children’s Home, in Putfontein. Thando Twala (7) was one of the young bikers.
